  • Calum Crichton, Director

    Calum, after graduating from the University of Dundee with his LLB in English Law, has held numerous senior commercial leadership roles.

    Over this period, he has been responsible for delivering over £15 million in revenue. In addition to delivering new brand rollouts and significant market repositioning, he has also built and run his digital marketing agency for five years. He was recognised for his achievements in 2022 and named number 6 on Business Insider’s 35 Under 35.

  • Ritchie Sherret, Director

    Ritchie is a Director of one of Scotland’s preeminent rural and private client insurance brokers. He has successfully built and sold two previous broking businesses as well as one of Scotland’s very successful wealth management practices. Aside from insurance and wealth management, Ritchie has held directorships in the TV Production world and also the Angel Investment sector where he spent a considerable amount of time in New York City successfully raising funds for Scottish businesses seeking to expand into North America.

  • Oliver Schofield, Director

    Oliver has more than 35 years of captive and ART experience. In 2012, he established RISCS, an independent risk and captive consultancy to address the instability seen in the traditional insurance markets. Oliver has presented key-note addresses at captive conferences around the world and has published widely on topics including Asian, European and American business, global insurance markets, captives and alternative risk strategies. Oliver has been recognised as one of the most influential figures in the global captive industry having been a member of the global “Captive Power 50” in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

  • Doug Smith, Director

    Doug retired in 2021 from a very successful insurance broking career but the challenge of creating a new and dynamic insurance company was too great an opportunity to be missed! During his career he was Chairman of Corporate Risk PLC, Chairman of Johnston Higgins (UK) Ltd, Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of Willis Mergers and Acquisitions, Chairman of Marsh (Scotland) Ltd, Chairman of Marsh UK Private Equity and Chairman of Hearts Football Club. His global rolodex of highly influential individuals across varied business sectors is invaluable to ARX Rural Re.

  • Stewart Roxburgh, Director

    Stewart started his career as a trainee surveyor which has assisted greatly when he went on to become an insurance underwriter gaining valuable experience with both the Provincial Insurance company in Edinburgh and in London with John Holman & Son (Lloyds Underwriters). With over 40 years in the industry, he runs his own insurance broking and wealth management business which is now one of the largest independents in Scotland.

  • Glenn Ellis, Independent Non Executive Director

    Glenn has a distinguished career spanning over 45 years in the risk management and insurance industry. His career includes senior roles such as Underwriter, Lloyd’s broker, Risk Manager, and Director of Operations for an in-house insurance broker. Glenn has managed global portfolios for major companies like AIG and Zurich, spearheading multi-line/multi-year insurance programs for global corporate clients, with a focus on captive insurers and reinsurers.

    Since retirement in 2018, Glenn has continued contributing through consultancy projects and was appointed as the ESG Ambassador on the Board of Directors for Airmic in 2021.

  • David Hully, Independent Non Executive Director

    David has worked in international financial services since 1997 and has experience encompassing insurance, management consulting, asset management and investment banking. He has directed and designed numerous insurance engagements for multi-national clients. He is an insurance professional focusing on risk management and corporate innovation for financial efficiency including hard-market solutions.

    David holds an MBA with Distinction and Strategy Concentration from London Business School, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and a BSc in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
